PRESENCE SLEEP

For the past year, I acted as the UI/UX lead at Presence Sleep. As lead, I owned the mobile application's end-to-end product development cycle, transforming a loose-concept-word-cloud into a fully functional app, with over 90% success rate amongst early testers.

As the only in-house designer, I was responsible for everything from user research, to UX design, product management and UAT testing.

Impact:

- 70% reduction in (journaling) task time

- 90% success rate of service offering amongst early testers

RESEARCH QUESTION

What are parents’ main causes for concern regarding their child’s health?

THE CHALLENGE

Presence (not yet called Presence Sleep) first hired me as a design researcher contractor. They had a loose idea of what they wanted their product to be and wanted my help initially to:

1. Conduct user research

2. Conduct Market research

2. Translate findings into a business opportunity

The loose-concept-word-cloud that I started with:

Hardware & Software

Smart Nursery

Baby wellness

Crypto

Coaching

PROVIDING PHYSICAL SUPPORT

Currently:

😰

Parents are unable to fully relax when their baby is napping because something could happen at any time.

Parents need both physical and cognitive support

RESEARCH PROCESS

Because the research topic was so vast and, from the get go, I sensed diverging opinions/ preferences in the group, I chose to pursue a research > workshop > focused research

approach.

I find this framework particularly useful in building a cohesive narrative and collaborating with an opinionated group.

To the right, you can see some of the frameworks I developed for and during this collaborative process.

THE SOLUTION(S)

2. Sarah and her Invisible Aligners

We addressed the miscommunication between nurses and families bu designing a fun and informative booklet called Sarah y sus Alienadores Invisibles

The main goals of this booklet were to

1. to repeat and document information shared in the office

2. demystify common questions such as how to properly maintain aligners
